MaClean’s University Ranking发布的加拿大高校排名由来已久，已有 29 年历史。作为加拿大最具权威性的大学排名方式，其排名使用五大领域中的 14 项数据指标来给 3 类大学进行排名；上榜院校均是加拿大高校联盟的成员。这些大学注册全日制学生人数均在 1,000 人以上，排名可参考性较高；一直以来都是高校声誉和学术水平的风向标。为了方便区分和对比，麦考林将加拿大学校分为三类，分别是：医学博士类、综合类 and基础类。

医博类大学排名 Medical/Doctoral - 2022

Doctoral Universitiesrefer to the 15 universities and colleges with medical and doctoral degrees. Undergraduate Admission Requirements Remain Generally Unchanged

As the number of undergraduate applicants in Canada continues to rise, the enrollment of international student has been increasing year after year. The admissions requirements of major undergraduate universities in Canada have not changed much, especially in the average grades in grade 12 and IELTS scores.Under normal circumstancesrequirements basically follow these principles:

Grade 12 students with an average grade of 85% or higher can apply for a medical university or a higher-ranking&nbspcomprehensive university；
Students with an average grade of more over 80% in grade 12 can apply for other medical and doctoral universities.
Students with an average grade of over than 70% in grade 12 can apply for comprehensive universities (except University of Waterloo and York University, which generally require about 80%).
Students with an average grade of over than 60% can apply for primarily undergraduate universities.

Regarding language scores English ProficiencyCanadian universities accept IELTS, TOEFL and other standardized language test scores,an exemption for mature students、language centres of the universityGraduation and other methods are used as admission requirements. Among them, the requirements for IELTS scores in most provincial universities in Canada have not changed in recent years. Undergraduate "direct admission" requires an overall score of 6.5 or above, and a minimum of 5.5 in each individual section. Different schools have different requirements for individual sections.

Most Undergraduate Institutions Offer "Conditional Admission"

The term "Conditional Admission" is the widely used for those studying abroad, referring to a method of entering a university without English proficiency.

If the academic results and language scores you submit meet the requirements of the undergraduate major you are applying for, then the University Admissions Office will issue a OFFERdirectly. You can then proceed to apply for a visa, buy air tickets, enroll, take your courses, graduate with full credits, and earn a degree
If your academic results meet the program’s admission requirements but your language results do not, the University Admissions Office will issue a CONDITIONAL OFFER&nbspThe school will not allow you to begin your studies until you have received a language score that meets the requirements.

Some Canadian universities cooperate with designated third-party language schools. At this time, you will receive two acceptance letters – one for a language admission to the designated language school and the other for a language admission for the undergraduate program. This is the true origin of the term "conditional admission". For Canadian high school students to apply for university, there is no need to take a unified exam like the Chinese college entrance examination. Instead, decisions are made based on grade 12 results. This also applies to international students. Each university has different requirements for applicants according to different programs. In general, university applicants need to submit 6 course results from their 12th grade, including grade 12 English. In general, 12th grade Advanced Functions MHF4U and the Calculus MCV4U are required courses, plus Physics SPH4U and Chemistry SCH4U. If the selected engineering major is related to biology or the environment, such as bioengineering and environmental engineering, some universities require a grade 12 Biology SBI4U score. In addition, some engineering majors also recommend that students take Earth and Space Science SES4U, depending on course availability.

Natural sciences majors:natural sciences majors require no less than engineering majors when it comes to grade 12 credits. The only difference is that natural sciences majors have slightly lower grade requirements for 12 grade courses. Natural sciences include basic sciences such as mathematics, biology, chemistry, physics, computer science, food nutrition, life sciences, and nursing. Generally speaking, Advanced Functions MHF4U and Calculus MCV4U are still required. According to the program’s characteristics, the university will choose two courses from Physics SPH4U, Chemistry SCH4U, Biology SBI4U, and Earth and Space Science SES4U as the requirements for grade 12 students’ course selections. Food & nutrition and life sciences majors require chemistry and biology courses in grade 12, and nursing generally requires Mathematics of Data Management MDM4U at grade 12, in addition to Chemistry and Biology.

Business majors: Business is one of the top choices of Chinese students. A good business school requires grade 12 Advanced Functions MHF4U and Calculus MCV4U grades. A general university business major requires a grade 12 Advanced Functions MHF4U grade. In addition, some grade 12 business courses are also selected by universities according to program recommendations, such as: Financial Accounting Principles BAT4M, International Business Fundamentals BBB4M, and Analyzing Current Economics Issues CIA4U.

Social science majors:The required average grade for students in grade 12 is not as high as the previous three disciplines, and the competition is relatively less intense. Also, most majors do not require high scores in mathematics. However, for students whose first language is not English, there will be a lot of reading assignments which can be a big challenge. The 12th grade course requirements for these majors are not as high, except for the economics major, which requires the 12th grade Advanced Functions MHF4U and Calculus MCV4U grades.

When the university calculates your average score, they will first look at your 12th grade courses required by your selected major, and then they look at the scores of your other 12th grade courses from grades that are the highest, to complete the calculation for the six courses. For example, a student applying for amechanical engineering major&nbspmust generally have 12th grade results for Advanced Functions MHF4, Calculus MCV4U, Physics SPH4U, and Chemistry SCH4U.

Because these four grade 12 courses are compulsory for the university major, they will be selected first for review even if the scores are low. After the four compulsory courses, the remaining two courses with the highest grades are selected from the remaining 12th grade 4U / M courses, and calculated together. The average score is used to verify whether or not the student meets the university’s requirements for admission.

Canadian University Undergraduate Application Process

Step 1. 与留学规划师进行前期沟通，进行初浅规划

This seemingly general process will play a vital role in your future undergraduate applications. As a professional&nbspeducation consultants&nbspwe must first fully understand the clear needs of the applicant and plan based on yourcurrent situation作出相应的初浅规划方案。每个申请个案都是相对独立的，每个申请人的需求以及对于未来 5-10 年的人生规划都是不同的，每个申请的材料亮点也都不尽相同。留学规划师的前期沟通需要了解的信息包括但不限于：

Which high school are you studying in now? What courses are you currently taking in grade 12? How are your grades?
Do you have any idea of your future target university and the major you want to apply for?
Do you understand the subject matter of the programs, such as business, engineering, computer science, and social sciences; and their career directions?
Do your current courses meet the specific requirements your targeted university?

And so on....

Step 2. Determine your study plan and sign the "Application Service Agreement"

After completing the preliminary communication&nbspeducation consultantswill provide specific university application plans and quotations. If the applicant thinks that the solution is feasible and meets his/her own needs, the education consultant will further provide the"University Application Service Entrustment Agreement"&nbspand“Supplementary College Selection Agreement”。双方确定协议细节无误后，申请人缴纳相应的申请服务费后，即可进入正式规划与申请流程。

Step 3. 进行学术提升指导，与标化考试规划指导

Step 4. 收集材料完善申请，包装润色快速提交

Step 5. 申请跟进跟催 OFFER，及时解决申请问题

11年级的8-9月，确定专业方向

在11年级阶段，针对未来在大学希望选择的专业，进行高中“对口”课程的选择深入学习。

例如：希望在大学选择信息工程的学生，需要在11年级选择计算机基础；希望在大学选择工程的学生，需要在11年级选择物理、化学等课程。

11年级的10月中，准备标化考试

如果你没有在澳、英、加、美、新加坡等以英语作为母语或授课语言的国家，连续学习费纯语言课程 ESL 超过4年；很大程度上，你不能“免语言”申请加拿大的大多数大学。因此，尽早着手准备雅思、托福等标化语言考试，为自己流出充分的时间是非常有必要的。

11年级的11月中，反思审视现状

此时，大部分学生已经拿到了11年级上学期期中的成绩单。应该针对自己的成绩状况、所在学校等现状作出反思。

如果你的成绩较好，应该多关注提升雅思成绩、参与课外活动、积累义工小时等对大学申请有益的方面；如果你的成绩较差，应该找到相应的原因。例如：是否自己不够努力？学习方法是否欠妥？是否需要额外补习？等。

11年级第二学期的1月中，进行初步调整

此时，学生需要再次考虑即将申请大学的所选专业是否喜欢，在11年级阶段还有机会做出调整。学生需要根据自己的成绩现状考虑是否需要转学，以提高12年级平均分数。

11年级第二学期的2月中，筹划调课或转学

根据11年级第一学期期末成绩，进行调整高中课程选择。如有需要，应着手开始筹划12年级转学安排。

11年级第二学期的3月中，雅思首考摸底

参考第一次雅思摸底分数，客观了解自己的真实英语水平，同时着手准备提高雅思成绩。根据未来有可能达到的雅思分数，决定哪些大学可以尝试直接申请，以及是否需要申请的大学的“双录取”。

11年级中后期至12年级开学前，留学生“转学季”

这个阶段，很多国际学生发现：出国前在国内选择的加拿大高中存在很多问题。例如：给分很低，及时完成作业努力学习参加考试依旧被老师给很低的分数、或无法选择“U”的课程等对未来大学申请不利的因素。这些问题在公立教育局下辖高中尤为明显。此时应该尽量多的考察学校，并在12年级前完成高中转学。

12年级第一学期的9月，参加大学博览会

这个阶段会有很多大学或学院，召开招生博览会。例如：安省大学教育展、安省学院教育展等。学生应积极参加此类展会，尽量多的收集最新的院校手册 Viewbook，并向参展院校的招生人员进行咨询。

12年级第一学期的10月，OUAC开放申请

参看各种线上或线下资源，查看“开放专业”和课程均分、语言成绩等对应要求。可以提前与我们的留学规划老师进行申请规划。

12年级第一学期的11月，上传11与12年级成绩

11年级期末成绩与12年级第一学期期中成绩，会被所在高中通过安省教育系统进行上传。应当针对自己的成绩现状及时作出调整。如果分数过低或雅思未能达标，都应尽早与我们的留学规划老师联系找到对应解决方案。

12年级第二学期的1月，OUAC申请截止

OUAC 101 申请“Equal Consideration”的截止日期。在此日期后递交的申请，学校不一定接受，会根据各学校各专业的录取名额来决定是否审核。加拿大只有个别大学会一直接受“纸质申请”；因此我们建议学生一定在此日期前进行大学申报。

12年级第二学期的1月中，递交补充材料

加拿大很多大学的工程或商科专业，通常会要学生填写补充信息。例如：个人陈述 Personal Statement、限时作文 Online Essay、视频录制 Video Interview等。这些申请附加材料的截止日期通常在OUAC 101截止后不久。

12年级第二学期的2月，Early Offer

有些大学会在此时发放第一轮Offer，又称“Early Admission”。EA是基于非常优秀的11年级成绩与同样优秀的12年级上学期成绩给出的有条件录取 Conditional Offer。只要学生能够符合有条件录取信上标注的“条件”（例如：满足12年级平均分，或在指定日期前提供符合要求的雅思成绩等），即可在日后获取正式Offer。

12年级第二学期的2月中，12年级部分成绩上传

安省大部分高中，会在此时将12年级秋季期末成绩上传给OUAC，并把学生春季的选课情况一同上传。此阶段留学生还有最后的机会通过“转学”提高12年级成绩。由于很多大学不接受高中重修分数，因此建议学生在听取专业意见前，不要贸然选择没有把握拿到高分的12年级课程。

12年级第二学期的3至4月，大批下Offer

大部分加拿大大学会在此时批量发放“普通录取”的第一批Offer。一般在截止日期前递交的申请，且成绩基本满足条件的学生，都会在这个时间段拿到大学录取Offer。

12年级第二学期的4月中，12年级部分成绩上传

此时，大部分安省高中会将学生12年级春季其中成绩上传到OUAC

12年级第二学期的5月，第二次批量Offer

之前的成绩不够有竞争力但最新的12年级期中成绩不错，或晚递交申请的学生，可能会在这个阶段受到Offer。通过OUAC 105递交申请的Offer大部分都在此期间发放。

12年级第二学期的5至8月，通过纸质申请

加拿大个别大学，例如约克大学、安省理工大学、阿尔格玛大学、川特大学、布鲁克大学、圭尔夫大学双录取等，在9月开学前仍接受纸质申请。如果之前没有及时递交申请或高中成绩出分太晚，仍有在9月进入大学的可能。此时可以与我们的规划老师联系，尽快安排纸质递交大学申请。

12年级或高中毕业后的5月，接Offer或关注纸质申请

大学录取信Offer上会注明接受的具体截止日期，逾期作废。截止日期最早的是6月初，需要注意这之后的Offer从发出到截止通常有至少1个月的时间来决定。6月中旬一直到9月开学前两周可以继续查看哪些大学专业还有空位，继续通过纸质方式递交申请。

12年级或高中毕业后的7月，上传完整成绩

安省高中会在此时给学生上传12年级的完整成绩，包括是否完成义工小时、是否通过安省统考等毕业要求。

12年级或高中毕业后的8月，“条件检查”

部分大学会通过邮件确认学生是否满足Offer上标注的录取条件，但有些大学不会，因此需要学生自检并做到心中有数。如果未能满足条件，需要及时联系大学做出调整。例如：雅思未能达到指定要求，可及时联系学校添加语言双录取或改申其他预科项目。
