We do not know what the future holds,

We just know to work very hard.

When I was young, I pushed myself hard to be the top student of my class.

When I was older, I strived to get into the top schools.

Thinking back, life as a kid was really simple.

My biggest dream was to become a famous scientist,

My biggest worry was not getting into Tsinghua or Peking University.

Until one day, when I suddenly grew up and realized that the world was bigger than I had imagined. There is much more the world has to offer – like to study abroad.

However, there are so many schools abroad even though we have only been told of Tsinghua and Peking University since we were young. No one has ever mentioned going to the University of Toronto or McGill University ...

We want to know more about the schools before we make a decision to apply, but the problem is, the school is so far away! We rarely have the opportunity to go and see for ourselves. So besides looking at rankings, we might also look for information on the Internet. Another problem is there are so many sources of rankings, and each one is so different. Which one do we look at? How are Canadian schools classified, and are they not like the "Project 985" and "Project 211" universities in China? Which schools in Canada are like the "985" and "211"?

While these terms may seem strange outside of China, we have done everything possible to collect and analyze data to sort out the Canadian "985" and "211" school classifications for you.

The first phase of Project 985 was first implemented at Peking University and Tsinghua University (our deepest interwoven dream as a child). There is a total of 39 universities in the project.
211Engineeringis a process for the 21st century, focusing on the establishment of about 100 universities and a number of key disciplines. The project was officially launched in November 1995. There are 112 universities in total.
